It seems that every day another “disrupter” enters the Atlanta residential real estate market. This is really nothing new. Years ago, it was ForSaleByOwner.com. Then it was WeBuyUglyHouses.com. In the past year, we have been told that a whole slew of iBuyers (Opendoor, OfferPad, Knock, Zillow Instant Offers, and others) were just the “disrupters” that the market needed.

Not to be outdone, Compass has decided that they will “disrupt” the Atlanta market by trying to provide the same services that Harry Norman, REALTORS® has been providing for most of our eighty-eight years. Allow us a question, “Do you really need more disruption in your life?”
Most of these services trumpet their latest technology and how an algorithm can easily replace the human interaction in a real estate transaction. Seriously? When was the last time that you purchased something for hundreds of thousands of dollars purely from a picture on your iPhone? Algorithms work perfectly fine for some things, but are massively wrong most of the time when utilized to establish the market value of a home. Neighbors and clients have echoed to us that our strategy of combining the latest technology with real market expertise and experience provides the best results for them year after year. There is no technology that will replace the local market knowledge of a highly-trained, professional Harry Norman, REALTOR®. As Atlanta native Clark Howard often states, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”
We have been the local market experts and the luxury real estate leader in the metro Atlanta area for almost nine decades and it would be our pleasure to assist you with your real estate needs. Promises kept, relationships enriched.

An Interior Decorator Balanced this Buckhead Cottage with a Wide Array of Modern and Sentimental Favorites
Whitney Durham loves architecture with a history, but she also has a soft spot for contemporary art and ’60s-era Lucite. As part of her design philosophy, she’s not inclined to buy furnishings from a large retail chain; instead, she gravitates to anything inherited, repurposed, or custom. “I like each room to have at least one thing that’s vintage or antique,” says the interior decorator, who grew up in Marietta. “I love anything that has a sentimental story.”
The circa-1932 cottage Whitney an d her husband, Nathan, found in Buckhead had the sort of character she appreciates: stone on the front facade, with a Gothic-shaped front door painted a cheery blue. She added six beveled-glass windows to the front door to lighten up the look, just the sort of small-but-significant changes that continued on the inside.
Inside the renovation of Norfolk Southern Buildings, a Downtown Atlanta Landmark
Base floors for both structures were finished in 1912, and each was expanded to eight stories in 1928. Through the years, the first two stories housed logistics, distribution, and storage for the railroad company, while office workers toiled upstairs. Until 2004, that is, when the last employees were transferred to Midtown.
The buildings, while sturdy, have been moldering ever since, overlooking the underutilized Gulch. Artifacts from recent television and Hollywood productions—signage from The Walking Dead, a door that read “Los Angeles Police Department”—were the only signs of recent life.
